ESG Controller
We are looking for an ESG Controller to join our External Reporting and Technical Accounting team. As a member of this team, you will partner with the Sustainability team to develop the Group's external reporting on environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics in line with recent and upcoming regulations. In this role you, will report to the Head of External Reporting and Technical Accounting.
Main tasks
In this role, you will be responsible for developing the Group’s ESG reporting and underlying processes and tools. In order to meet recent and upcoming regulatory requirements, the ESG Controller will establish sound data collection and analysis, and liaise between the External Reporting team and the Sustainability team. We are looking for a colleague with a critical and analytical mindset who is flexible and able to develop and drive initiatives, understands group external reporting, and can interpret and apply the relevant ESG reporting guidance in practice.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Preparation of accurate and reliable external reporting in accordance with the applicable ESG reporting requirements including the upcoming European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS);
- Support with the implementation of Tietoevry’s global sustainability strategy, targets and policies;
- Support with the ESG related analysis (risk, impact and opportunity analysis) for business insight and decision-making;
- Developing data collection processes to enable traceable, efficient and reliable reporting processes;
- Providing expertise and experience from operational and financial data - with ability to connect different domains with ESG data, risk and performance
- Playing a key role in designing and building an integrated reporting approach using the group reporting tools;
- Liaising with the external audit engagement team.
We are looking for a candidate who has a Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 5+ years of work experience in financial reporting, ideally in a publicly listed international company or a public audit firm. A recognized accounting qualification (KHT in Finland or CPA equivalent) is considered an asset. You have the ability to research topics at a detailed level and have a keen interest and enthusiasm for all things ESG! We also require solid IT skills and an ability to develop reporting processes.
In this role, you will partner with the Sustainability team and collaborate with different teams and stakeholders e.g. finance operations in different countries including the shared service center, business teams, external advisors and auditors. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have a proactive, can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills. You are responsible and able to take initiative and ownership and you have a positive mindset towards challenges.
You have excellent communication skills. You are able to work under pressure during tight deadlines. You also have superb analytical skills and you are interested in technology and digital ways of working.
